About DA Cook (Builders) Ltd
D A Cook (Builders) Limited was established in 1968 and is a family owned construction and development company based in Gloucestershire. Our reputation is founded on the quality of projects undertaken over the years and the opinions of our clients' are paramount. In the early years D A Cook concentrated on repairs and maintenance contracts but quickly moved on to all aspects of building, including new build, refurbishment and historic and period building restoration. Established customers include NHS, Local Education Authorities, County Councils, Severn Trent Water, English Heritage and private clients.
Over the years, we have undertaken many interesting projects, including the repair, alteration and total refurbishment of quite a 'famous' residence in College Yard, Worcester, which appears on the back of the £20 note. The Grade ll listed house adjoins Worcester Cathedral and is on a site of historical and archaeological interest; the site is a scheduled Ancient Monument. The property was of such interest, that an Open Day was arranged for interested parties to see through the house before restoration took place. Over 150 people took advantage of this and many of them requested that the house be opened once again, after works were completed. This of course was granted by the owners and it was requested that all the 'D A Cook team' attend where we were thanked for bringing the property 'back to life'.
